It’s here, the slow but certain end of summer. But until the Fall Equinox is here, I refuse to acknowledge the truth. If like myself, you are still dreaming about warm summer nights, then today’s makeup look is for you.For this makeup look post, I wanted to create an evening look that focuses on that end of summer bronzed skin look which celebrates the intentional or unintentional tanning we have (hopefully) all enjoyed during everyone’s favourite season.
I recently got my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, which in my opinion is perfect for creating a fall makeup looks. But I was certain that I wanted to use it in this look.
Staying away from the red and pink tones in the palette, I focused on the sienna toned eyeshadows, and added a sharp wing of eyeliner. I also was inspired by a gorgeous bronzer by Catrice to create a semi-chiseled contour to enhance and emphasize my recently acquired natural tan. Last but not least, I incorporated a glossy red lip courtesy of Kiko’s new 3D Hydra Lipgloss line.
Product & application details
EYES
ABH Modern Renaissance: I used Tempera all over the lids, Golden Ochre as a transition shade, Raw Sienna on the crease, Burnt Orange on the outer corner, and finally Primavera on the mobile like. I love using eyeshadows in the same tones because it makes application that much easier.
Essence Super Precise Eyeliner: A waterproof eyeliner I recently got at the drugstore, and which turns out to be so easy to use and so… precise! And it looks like the guys at Essence don’t joke with the waterproof part either. It therefore helps to primer your eyelids to create a layer to which the eyeliner can stick, instead of directly onto your skin.
FACE
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation: Applied using Beauty Blender, I used the shade 40 Beige
Maybelline Fit Me! concealer in 20: Applied to the top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow.
Naked Skin Concealer in Medium-Light/Neutral: Used under the eyes to hide dark circles, blended with a Beauty Blender.
Catrice SunGlow Matt Bronzing Powder in Medium Skin: I used a contouring brush to trace a sharp contour on the hollows of my cheekbones and along my temples. Then I used a fluffy powder brush to blend the contour lines and at the same time add a sheer veil of the same bronzer all around the edges of my face. This is a great way to soften your contour and give it a more natural finish.
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer: Applied using a fan brush on the top of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow.
LIPS
Kiko Lip Pencil in Light Sienna: Used to line my lips and fill them in to unify the tone.
Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss in 13: This is an amazing lip product that I have just discovered; it’s a decently pigmented lipgloss with buildable coverage, it doesn’t stick, and the finish is almost mirror like.
THE FINAL LOOK
I hope you guys enjoyed this final look for the summer! I am certainly still going to be wearing summer makeup until the season officially comes to an end! But look out for fall makeup looks and more posts in the coming days! And thank you for reading 🙂
