You would think that Fall/Autumn makeup is all about warm toned colours we see in nature: amber, plum and burgundy. But Fall is also synonym with cool toned, dark and light blue-grays we don’t notice because they’re up in the clouds. And the Morphe 35K palette has the perfect shades to emulate this less loved, but equally natural aspect of the Fall season.
I received the Morphe 35K palette just yesterday, and couldn’t wait to use it. It looks like a palette with multiple similar shades, but that’s what makes the 35 eyeshadow palettes so good, as they offer a great deal of colour and shade precision. I knew I wanted to keep the first look all about cool tones, and so this is what I came up with:
The Morphe palette unfortunately don’t have names for eyeshadows, so I’ve numbered the eyeshadows I used in case you want to recreate this look.
1: I used this first colour as a transition shade, applying it with a light hand along the eye crease with a fluffy blending brush.
2: To intensify the transition shade, I went in with a smaller blending brush to apply this second eyeshadow, this time concentrating it mostly where my natural crease line is.
3: Using the same blending brush, I applied this cool toned brown eyeshadow to the outer corners of my eyes, bringing it to about a third of my mobile eyelid.
4: I applied this shade onto the middle 3rd part of my mobile eyeined using a flat shader brush, and blending it slightly upwards to mix with the transition shades I used.
5: Using a small shader brush, I appied this eyeshadow on the third inner part of my mobile lid, blending it upwards as with the previous shade.
6: Last but not least, I used this shimmer blue-gray eyeshadow to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, applying it with a small pencil brush.
1, 2, 4: I also combined these three eyeshadows to smoke out my lower lashline, in order to balance out the smokey look I ended up with.
