Hello Game of Thrones fans! Halloween is around the corner, and guess what that means? Winter is coming! If you follow me on Instagram (@makeup_foundry), you know I recently got the Morphe 35K palette and have not put it down since. For today’s Monday Blues series post, I decided to play with the blue shades on the Morphe 35K and try my hand at the White Walker “look”.This is my first attempt at what could be described as “face painting”, except I didn’t have any paints to work with. Instead, I used matte and shimmer eyeshadows to emulate the distinct facial features of a White Walker.
With the help of some Google images, I copied the features of scary Game of Thrones character “The Night King”, who possesses the power of changing humans into White Walkers. This guy also has some SERIOUS cheekbones and wrinkles which I tried creating using black and blue eyeshadows from the Morphe 35K palette. For the hollowed eyes, I mixed black and royal blue eyeshadows from the Sleek V Matte palette.
I didn’t have blue contact lenses, so I used the talents of digital artist Julian Herbrig (@care4art on Instagram) who photoshopped the icy blue eyes of the original Night King onto my eyes. I also didn’t have the scary teeth to go with the look, but nothing a little cardboard cutout couldn’t fix; It’s all about that DIY!
I hope you guys enjoyed this look. I tried it just for fun, and to train my hand at 3D effects. I wish I had some latex to add more dimension, but was overall satisfied with the contoured effect thanks to eyeshadows. I am constantly reminded that makeup alone can offer unlimited possibilities to create virtually any look, and this is what I love about it! Let me know what you thought and if you’d like to see any specific Halloween tutorials in the next posts! And until next time, have a great week ahead!
